How are events helpful to take marketing of established technology training institute to the next level.

Events are being viewed as an increasingly important element in the promotion of any company’s product, service, or cause.

No other marketing discipline is expanding as heavily as events today. In the US for example, the growth of events is three times as fast as of advertising. It is also growing in Sweden at a very high rate. Event Marketing agencies are established all the time and a business organisation for event marketing has been started.

Vent Marketing or technology training institute would be marketing the institute through events, where marketing is seen as central and the event is considered the actual marketing tool. Event marketing for the technology training institute would focus on a target group which would be potential students and people carrying high interested in technology and hence involves high contact intensity. It turns a message about the institute into an event that can be experienced by the audience (age group about to enter college). Several senses are engaged, which increases the chances to remember the experience and thereby also the message. By using event marketing for those institutes the media clutter can be penetrated, and through the meeting a relationship can be established between the technology training institute and its target group, i.e. students. Hence, the return of event marketing is the personal meeting. During an event the institute will have exclusive access to its potential students for at least a few hours, with the media clutter (read competitors) eliminated.

Event marketing for technological training institute is not only effective, but also is a fun type of marketing. It is an opportunity to have fun and to mingle with students and potential students while promoting the institute in an active manner.
Those events give chance for students to interact with the technological training institutes and understand it in a better and practical way. Some institutes have events that give students a hand on technology education. Hence, they can understand their aptitude and make a choice.
Hence, it has taken the marketing of technological training institutes to a next level completely.

Example:

1.   MOOD INDIGO, or MoodI, as it is fondly called, is the annual cultural festival of IIT Bombay. Held towards the end of December every year, it attracts a whopping 72,000 students from more than 500 colleges all over the country. It is a promotional event for the institute which is already established and taking it to the next level.

Started in 1971 by a bunch of enthusiastic IITians, Mood Indigo has now snowballed to become the largest festival of its kind in Asia. The colour chosen to be representative of the Mood was Indigo - a fusion of Red and Blue. Red for the warmth and passion of an artistic adventure, blue for the originality of the rational mind, giving Indigo - the symbol of creativity and intellectualism.

This event has become an identity of IIT, and spreading awareness of IIT amongst general public. Attending this event, students themselves experience the stay at IIT. Hence, it’s altogether a different level of marketing.

2.      UN ESCAP’s ICT Training Centre Launches Three New Initiatives to Bridge Digital
The United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT), a technology training institute of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia-Pacific based in Incheon, Republic of Korea, holds events for promoting the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for national development.

These events are in support of the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy which takes place today in Seoul, Republic of Korea. About 2,000 delegates, including ministers from more than 40 countries, are attending the meeting which focuses on ways in which the Internet economy can enhance social and economic development.

Thus, international technology training institute also takes help of events to promote itself and its message.
